Loro

by Luca Marianaccio

“Loro” is a narrative work of images that delves into the profound mystery of the possible presence of extraterrestrial intelligences in Italy, tracing a journey through more than a century of history, from the early 20th century to the present day. A visual and documentary account that does not merely suggest hypotheses, but explores with depth and rigor the testimonies, traces, and questions that this enigma brings with it.
The idea that our planet may have been visited by alien civilizations is no longer confined solely to the realm of science fiction or popular folklore. On the contrary, numerous military records, along with a vast array of documented events from 1933 to today, form a body of evidence that challenges any conventional explanation. While the official debate has often oscillated between skepticism and institutional silence, interest in these phenomena has never ceased to grow, fueling independent investigations and in-depth studies.
In Italy, ufology emerges as a multidisciplinary field of research that intertwines two complementary approaches: on one hand, historical-documentary analysis, which seeks to reconstruct the succession of sightings and testimonies with method and objectivity; on the other, a scientific investigation that aims to understand the true nature of UAP (Unidentified Aerial Phenomena) through advanced tools and models. Both perspectives converge into a single mission: to separate objective data from mere speculation, avoiding ideological, religious, or speculative drifts.
The approach adopted in “Loro” is strongly anthropological, based on research that maintains an open and impartial mindset. The goal is not only to examine the phenomenon itself but also to understand the impact these events have had—and continue to have—on the lives of those who have experienced them firsthand. Witnesses, documents, images, and scientific analyses intertwine to provide a picture that is as clear and unbiased as possible.
The vast and complex body of ufological material demands a critical, rigorous, and thoughtful analysis, capable of distinguishing between what is verifiable and what belongs to the realm of hypotheses. In this sense, “Loro” does not aim to provide definitive answers to the mystery of extraterrestrial, life but rather to open new perspectives for reflection and stimulate a serious, well-documented debate on one of the most fascinating questions in human history.
The invitation, therefore, is to set aside preconceptions and clichés, to approach this subject with critical thinking and intellectual curiosity—a subject that continues to challenge our certainties and raise fundamental questions about our place in the universe. Because if there is one thing that the history of ufology teaches us, it is that the most surprising answers often lie behind the boldest questions.
