by Amaury da Cunha

Incidences is the third monographic work of Amaury da Cunha. These photographs, taken from the author’s life, are liberated from their context: they recreate fleeting sensations, silent meditations, daydreams. The book is built like a diary – with no time frame. Links are however woven between the images, as if they dialoged in secret. In his peregrinations near and far (Paris, New York, Cuba, Les Saintes, Saint-Malo, etc.), the photographer has captured minute events, often hidden: it raises the question of the fragility of our condition, between sweetness and worry.
