Matter is the principal component of bodies, susceptible to any kind of form and change, perceivable through the senses. The objective of these images is to remove the volume from the body and turn it into a surface where the organic can be transformed into malleable matter. Devenir-materia (Becoming-matter) is a visual exploration of the materiality of my body through interventions on the photographic support. The body is explored from a metaphorical relationship: the photographic surface as the body’s surface. The plastic film as substitute skin. From this perspective the meaning of the skin can be interpreted as physical matter incapable of feeling pain.
