Giambellino

Besides being one of Milan’s most ethnically diverse areas, GIAMBELLINO is also one of the historic working-class neighborhoods. Maintaining this profile, over the years it has remained one of the last bastions of Milan’s working-class community. Several historic figures in the pop-criminal-TV scene have passed through here: Giorgio Gaber, Renato Vallanzasca, Diego Abatantuono, Gino Bramieri, Adriano Celentano, and Silvio Berlusconi. The construction earthquake caused by Expo 2015 is changing its socio-cultural fabric. The construction of Metro Line 4 (“the Blue Line”- “Linea Blu”) is contributing to a slow, yet inexorable, process of gentrification, the effects of which have already felt like a tsunami, irreparably revolutionizing other areas of the Lombardy capital.
