Under Which Tree Did Goethe Sleep?

by Ugo Milano

Where do unspoken thoughts, unrealized ideas, and suspended reveries go? Can they leave traces in the physical world?
In Under Which Tree Did Goethe Sleep?, a mysterious manuscript (written by the literate and scientist Johann Friedrich von W.) reveals the theory of an intermediate reality, suspended between imagination and science, where the ideas of all authors and scientists who have lived in the university town of Göttingen become tangible entities, visible through a secret invention.
This project is also the journey of the photographer, a literature student, who, inspired by the manuscript, explores Göttingen with his camera, searching for this hidden reality.
