Splinter

“Splinter” is a photographic documentation of a house on the outskirts of society whose inhabitants refused to accept that only order is legitimate in today’s world. They created around themselves a world resembling a warehouse – a space packed with things, whether working or not. It seemed that the continuous change gave meaning to that reality.

The photographs capture the visual richness of a world on the periphery, where life is driven by disorder and the inevitability of disaster. A fascination with the non-obvious beauty of the documented space comes along with a subconscious anxiety that in today’s world a catastrophe can happen everywhere, not only in forgotten places and among people who have been pushed beyond the boundaries of society.
