The persona is a complicated system of relations between individual consciousness and society, fittingly enough a kind of mask, designed on the one hand to make a definite impression upon others, and, on the other, to conceal the true nature of the individual.                   Jung, “The Relations between the Ego and the Unconscious” (1928)

Laura Rodari is a self-taught Italian photographer. Her photography gravitates towards the experimental. She works mainly in analog and hand prints her own work. Exploring the dark side of reality, the damage, the permanent marks, the stains – tangible or not – and giving shape to them in the darkroom is the core and the crucible of her works. She also embraces other media like video, digital and Polaroid. Since 2015, Rodari has been a member of the photographic art collective ‘AM projects’.
